Corporate Employee Engagement Through Creativity: What Our Art Workshops Revealed

In today's fast-paced corporate world, employees are constantly jumping between meetings, managing deadlines, and navigating the pressures of a digital first environment. Amid all this, creativity often takes a back seat and yet, it's one of the most powerful tools for stress relief, team bonding, and emotional well being.

Over the past year, we've had the opportunity to bring art back into the workplace through our hands-on creative workshops. From tech giants to hospitality brands, our journey has taken us inside some of the most inspiring office spaces and introduced us to even more inspiring people.

Here's what we've learned about employee engagement, creativity, and connection.

Where We've Conducted Workshops

We've hosted in-person workshops at companies including Google, Microsoft, WeWork, Ellucian, Ennoventure, Sheraton, and Concord.

We've also sent our DIY kits to teams across India at Bloomberg, ITC Pvt Ltd, BCG, Novartis, and HSBC for self guided sessions, virtual offsites, and team celebrations.

Whether it's an in-office event or a remote experience, every workshop is designed to help teams unwind, reconnect, and create something beautiful.

What Makes Our Workshops Different

Every workshop is built on one simple idea: Everyone can create”. That includes people who haven't touched a paintbrush in years and those who believe they're "not creative at all."

We conduct a wide range of art sessions, including:

  • Lippan Art – Traditional mirror work with clay
  • Candle Making – A calming, sensory experience
  • Dot Mandala – Meditative and therapeutic
  • Coaster Painting – Quick, creative, and functional
  • Resin Art – Modern and mesmerizing
  • Tote Bag Art – Wearable creativity
  • Canvas Painting – Classic and expressive
  • Tie & Dye – Playful and full of surprises
  • Mosaic Art – Collaborative and intricate

Our workshops have hosted anywhere from 10 to 100+ participants, depending on the workplace and event scale.

How We Make It Seamless

We follow a smooth, well planned structure that fits perfectly into a corporate schedule without disrupting the workday.

Pre-Workshop Setup

Our team arrives 30 minutes before the session to prepare the space. This includes covering and organizing tables, placing one complete art kit at every seat, displaying sample artwork for inspiration, setting up the demo area, and ensuring easy access to all materials.

What We Provide

Each participant receives an individual art kit that includes everything needed: a pre-marked MDF base, ready clay/mix, mirrors, paints, brushes, palette, dotting tools, Fevistick, cutter, tissues, a bookmark, and a detailed instruction manual. Everything is structured so participants don't have to arrange a single thing.

Team Support

Based on group size, Doodlez team members are present to guide participants throughout the session. Our team demonstrates techniques, offers individual assistance, maintains a warm and supportive environment, and ensures everyone creates something they feel proud of.

Workshop Flow

Every workshop follows an engaging sequence: Welcome & Settling In → Introduction → Kit Distribution → Live Tutorial by the Facilitator → Hands-on Creative Activity → Finishing Touches → Group Photos & Showcase.

Duration

Each workshop runs 60–90 minutes, depending on the art form.

A Unique Flexibility Companies Love

Not every employee can attend the full session, meetings happen, deadlines pop up. So we offer something thoughtful: employees can take their complete kit with them and finish their artwork later, at their own pace. This ensures everyone gets to experience the joy of creating, even if their schedule is tight.

What We Witnessed: Moments That Matter

Across offices, there are moments we never forget.

Senior leaders and interns sitting together, painting, laughing, and creating, breaking the invisible walls titles often create. Employees who started with "I've never painted before" ended up with pieces that looked beautifully imperfect and proudly took them back to their desks. Team members who used to paint in college or school reconnecting with their long lost hobby. People staying back after the session just to talk about colors, clay, mirrors, techniques and taking photos with their creations.

HR teams consistently share how refreshing it was to see the entire office create something meaningful together. These moments show why art belongs in every workplace. It bridges gaps, inspires conversations, and sparks joy in unexpected ways.

Why Art Works for Employee Engagement

Art slows people down in the best way possible. It creates a pause. A reset. A moment of calm.

Companies choose our workshops because they offer:

Real Stress Relief – The process of shaping clay, painting patterns, or dotting mandalas replaces mental noise with quiet focus.

Natural Team Bonding – People interact without pressure, no forced team-building games. Just creativity and conversation.

A Digital Detox – For 60–90 minutes, phones go down and hands get busy creating.

A Sense of Achievement – Participants walk away with a handmade piece they're proud of, reminding them of the experience long after the workshop ends.

Rediscovering Creativity – So many professionals used to paint, draw, or create before their careers took over. Our workshops remind them that the artist in them isn't gone, just dormant.

Workshop or Kit—We Make It Easy

Companies can choose between:

In-Office Workshops – We conduct the entire session at your workplace with our expert facilitators and complete setup.

DIY Kit Delivery – We ship complete kits so teams can enjoy the experience anytime perfect for hybrid or remote teams across India.

Both options offer the same creativity, same joy, and same beautiful outcomes.

What We've Learned About Corporate Creativity

Our journey across corporate offices has revealed something powerful: when people create together, they connect on a different level.

Amid busy schedules and demanding workdays, a simple art session can spark calmness, collaboration, creativity, confidence, and pure joy. Hierarchy dissolves when a VP and an intern are both figuring out how to place mirrors on clay. Titles don't matter anymore, they're just two people creating something together, sharing tips, laughing at mistakes, and celebrating small victories.

That's real employee engagement not forced, not scripted, just genuine human connection over shared creativity.

Creativity Belongs at Work

Employee engagement isn't just about survey scores and retention metrics. It's about creating moments where people feel valued, relaxed, and connected. It's about giving teams permission to slow down, to be imperfect, to play, and to see their colleagues as people, not just job titles.

In a world where burnout is the norm and work-life balance feels like a myth, something as simple as painting together can make a profound difference. It reminds teams that work isn't everything, that creativity matters, and that taking breaks makes us better at our jobs not worse.

And that's what we hope to bring into every workplace we visit or ship our kits to.
